About the Artist - Christine Adele Moore

Born in northern New Jersey, surrounded by art thanks to an artist mother, Christine went on to study Fine Art at the University of Delaware, Maryland Institute College of Art, and New College of Southwest Florida between the years of 1989-1993.  She joined the Art festival circuit in 2018 after 26 years of being a freelance artist for interior designers.  This meant helping a wide array of talented designers make their creative visions come to life in beautiful homes in Florida and around the country.

This work constantly challenged Christine to invent ways to accomplish the desired results and to learn about many different materials and techniques. Her current work is reflection and culmination of all of these years of experience.

“I use representational imagery to express visceral emotion. My work evolves from emotion that wells up from within, and I usually meditate on a sense of gratitude before beginning.  I find that this practice brings great joy to the process and results in paintings that celebrate life.

Working on canvas supports, I often separate my layers of texture, water based media, and various materials such as metal leaf, with layers of clear acrylic resin. Each painting is comprised of at least three and up to 12 layers.  This layering technique draws the viewer within the artwork and can have the appearance of active life that has paused for consideration and appreciation.”

Though this website is dedicated to her personal, visceral artwork, Christine still paints by commission, on both large and small scale, and loves every project. “They (the commissions) make me grow continuously,” states the artist. She explains that each assignment comes with the unique desires of the particular client and constantly pushes her out of her comfort zone, thereby increasing her range as an artist and offers explanation for her wide range of talents and style abilities.

Making art has been my passion since childhood. I love every minute of every day, because I do what I love and love what I do… and raised two beautiful sons while doing it.
